Guitar, Voice, Music Production
Dylan Cochran has a passion for life and especially a passion to train people. His life with music started at the age of 13 with the harmonica and led to the learning of the guitar, singing and writing songs. He has been involved with various bands in church and in varying worship environments such as retreats, conferences and special events. He also wrote and recorded his first album called “Live to Stand” in 2009 and has spent some of his off days the last couple years playing and gigging in the greater Olympia area. Currently he and his band are rehearsing for his sophomore album to come out in 2013. He feels that this world can easily get out of touch with real life, in his words, “We need help, we need joy and truth. I believe God can change an individual’s life in one moment and this can happen through music and worship.” Dylan enjoys seeing students and clients “feel” music and then in turn communicate it to others. This musical evolution fuels his teaching and song writing. It is also the foundation of his business model. Dylan believes who we are at home and what we love directly affect our music and therefore, our influence in the community and world.
Prior to becoming an instructor, Dylan attended Northwest University and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. At school, he was involved in worship bands, concert choir, The Northwest Choralons, and played guitar in the Vocal Jazz group known as Synergy.
Dylan currently plays and serves as the worship director at The Church of Living Water’s Century campus. He resides in the Olympia area with his wife and son. He enjoys time spent with his family as well as reading a good book, learning new musical concepts, writing and arranging music, being with friends, and he always looks forward to a good action movie.
Dylan’s musical influences include but are not limited to: Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, The Fray, Shawn McDonald, Matt Kearney, Jason Mraz, Tim Hughes, and Dave Matthews Band.
